The Aesthetics of Political Party Logos

National Solidarity Party
Singapore Democratic Party
People's Action Party
Singapore People's Party
Reform Party
Workers' Party

I have 2 explanations for why 4 out of 6 logos are of similar colours (i.e. same orange-red and blue):
  • Orange-red is one of the 2 colours of our National Flag.
  • These 2 shades of red and blue were the standard colours available for printing
I must say, only Workers' Party's logo is distinctively different from the rest, i.e. no celestial symbols (e.g. a star, sun, lightning etc) with sharp edges. Just a very earthly hammer. Though the connection between the Workers' Party's light blue shirts and its logo is lacking. The colour palette is a little off.

Don't ask me why the SPP logo looks like a cross between Caltex and Audi in the standard shades of red and blue.

These logos... are analogous to each party's offerings.
  • Fundamentally orbeet, conservative, repetitive, and boring in (i) concept and (ii) execution
  • Not catching up with the times... Maybe will earn a retro-nostalgic status in the future... But definitely not entirely relevant in today's context.
Everyone, please be reminded that there are so many colours to choose from in the world?! Open your mind!
