The Canopy, Bishan Park

'Good Fren' and I started our National Day with brunch at the Canopy in Bishan Park. The last time we were at Bishan Park, we didn't see this joint. Not sure if it's new or we were just blind.

It was a busy day for the staff at the Canopy. At least 90% full with only 2 service staff on the floor. While orders were taken promptly and efficiently, the food took its time to arrive.

'Good Fren' had this. I cannot remember what it's called. While it looked like it was supposed to taste continental, I took a bite of it and concluded that the sauce resembled like dark fried carrot cake from Newton Hawker Centre. Which is yummy, but weird in this combination. Nonetheless, 'Good Fren' enjoyed it.

I had a conservative brunch option. Poached eggs with salmon. Mmmmm... The muffin was lovely too... Sort of like McDees (which I like), but lighter and better.

We, like other Singaporeans in the cafe, enjoyed the relaxed ambience. We were pleasantly surrounded by greenery, yet safely retreated under an enclosed hut chilled by air-conditioning. PERFECT.
Of course, it helped very much that the babies sitting indoors did not wail.

Non-Singaporeans enjoyed the brunch experience too. This table of Koreans was in deep and continuous conversation, of which, I could only make out 1 word, "Sarang". Got to work harder at my Korean classes. =)
