Taipei - Day 6 - 回家了!

The last half a day was spent hidden in the comfort provided by Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越 around the Zhongshan MRT station.

We found this super Ah Niah shop called Afternoon Tea which sells anything that's frilly, smells good, and make females go "OoooooH!!"

There was even a cafe... which 'Good Fren' refused to enter.

I remember reading off a Singaporean's blog about 朱记 in Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越, but I wasn't sure which Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越 it was... Until we chanced upon it here in Zhongshan.  =))

It was quite packed, and we had to wait a bit for a table.

Once again, you had to order in Chinese.

Sour & spicy soup 酸辣汤

It's milder than I'd expected.

Beijing cold noodles with shredded chicken 北京鸡丝凉面

This is goooooood.

'Good Fren' is kind of weird. While he can have sashimi for breakfast, he thinks cold noodles are yucky. Watever?!

Boring Beef fried rice 牛肉炒饭 for 'Good Fren'.

And last but not least... My favourite Spring onion pancake(?) 葱油饼!!

As we were lugging our now-very-heavy suitcases around, we found an entire row of these vending machines.

It sold beauty products at a discount, presumably from the savings in rent and store-keeping.

I forgot to take a pic, but 'Good Fren' and I bought quite a bit of fruits (e.g. his favourite lychees) and food stuff (e.g. dried herbs soup packs) from the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi 新光三越 supermarket. Then we made our way to Taipei Bus Station to catch the express bus to Taoyuan International Airport.

That's the end of our Taipei trip.

It's a good trip. We'll be back for more!
