Putting the gay back into Chingay

Heh heh heh... Check out this article on Fridae.com... The title is brilliant!

Because the organisers of Chingay allowed members of public to participate in this year's parade (dressed up in their own garb and expressions), 2 members of the gay community went for it. In pink (tutu + topless + wings) and flying the rainbow flag!!

One of them said:

“I hope more LGBT Singaporeans will take part next year and that the government does not take steps to curb our participation. After all, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was the guest-of-honour that night and he applauded as we marched past, just as he did all the other contingents.”

=)))

Maybe next year, we will have a colourful LGBT contingent! I'm pretty sure once they become maintstream, some politicians will go,"I've always had gay friends...", and join them on the ChingGAY float.

I wonder why the local press did not pick up on this.
