KAMADO

Once you emerge from the Somerset MRT station, you are channelled into the buzzy 313@Somerset. If you have paid enough attention in the past 4 months, you'd have noticed KAMADO at the corner of Level 1.

Part of the Asian Kitchen, this modern 4 month old Japanese restaurant is not stingy about its interior decoration.

Its menu is also sufficiently textured with variety and colourful pictures to maintain your interest, offering grilled items, its signature bamboo rice, dessert, and an assortment of beverages.

We ordered the beef set and the pork bamboo set. The pork set is superior.

Of course, we had to order the yaki (grill) items.
This is amazing. It's brinjal with something else. I usually dislike brinjal, but I am now a convert.

From left: Foie Gras, Wagyu Beef and Enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon.
Our advice is to save the Foie Gras for the last, coz its flavours (and fats) are so satisfying that everything else pales in comparison.

This is yet another highlight of the meal. Matcha Tiramisu.
I thought it was gonna turn out to be tacky. You know... Fusion confusion kind of try-too-hard?

But we were pleasantly surprised by its rich yet humble finish.

The service was a little offbeat... Probably because the set-up is relatively new. But the flavourful foods made up loads for the experience.
