Thien Kee & Telok Blangah Hill

I like steamboat meals. Isn't it weird that people like us, so near the equator, would sit around a boiling pot of water and naked flame for a meal in the tropical heat?

Thien Kee must be one of the best steamboat places in Singapore.
For SGD22, you get the red plate of vegs, the tin plates of beef and seafood, and 2 eggs. We ordered an extra chicken drumstick and a plate of nothing but seahum... =)))

One cannot help but to be reminded that Thien Kee is indeed a Hainanese restaurant. The steamed chicken is succulent, the chilli and garlic sauces are spicy to a tee... (goes well with the steamboat stuff)

And of course... the chicken rice... Mmmmm... Stop talking and start eating!!

After that sinfully satisfying meal, we had to stop ourselves from going home and lounging on the sofa. Instead, we made our way to Telok Blangah Hill for our walk...

Erm... Yes... We drove to there to walk around. =)

The night view from Telok Blangah Hill is mesmerising! We can see the CBD lights burning in the background.

On our way up to the hill top, 'Good Fren' was not the only one complaining... (his muscles were aching from a work-related paintball session... sounds weird... but true...)

Can you see the complainant in this pic?

There he is! =)))
A lone cat enjoying Telok Blangah Hill...

Indeed, Telok Blangah Hill is a rare charming bit of Singapore that is hardly commercialised.

And more preciously, it's not crowded at all.

Apart from a few vehicles with engine running and no one in the front seats, other park users were mostly locals hanging out in groups, either having a small 'drinking' picnic, skating boarding, jogging, taking pics etc.

Go enjoy Telok Blangah Hill this week.
