Will Nicole Seah bring NSP to Victory in Marine Parade GRC?

A good chunk of Singapore is currently fascinated with Nicole Seah versus Tin Pei Ling.

Without TPL, Nicole Seah would have been another Glenda Han. So, let's all thank PAP for fielding TPL.

But sexist interest in female MP candidates aside, the real question is:

Will this fascination with Nicole Seah
bring NSP to victory
in Marine Parade GRC?

Coz if you compare the 2 sets of offerings by the 2 parties for Marine Parade, You'd soon realise that regardless how enthusiastic you are about Nicole Seah, the odds are stacked highly against NSP. Nicole Seah will not get into Parliament as MP. Probably not even as NCMP.

For the price of 1 vote in Marine Parade GRC, you get the services of the following sets of people for the next 5 years:

From NSP:
  • Ivan Yeo, 63, Married (2 kids), Managing Director, BA (Nantah)
  • Cheo Chai Chen, 60, Single, Businessman, BA (Nantah), Previously SDA
  • Nicole Seah, 24, Single, Advertising Executive, BSocSci (Hons) (NUS), Previously RP
  • Spencer Ng, 31, Single, Founder of Events Company, BA (NUS), Previously RP
  • Abdul Salim Harun, 29, Single, Warehouse assistant, Diploma (SIRS), Previously WP
From PAP:
  • Goh Chok Tong, 70, Married (2 kids), Senior Minister, BA (1st Class Hons) (NUS),
  • Fatimah Lateef, Single, 44, Consultant/Associate Prof, Dept of Emergency Medicine, Singapore General Hospital, MBBS (NUS)
  • Seah Kian Peng, 50, Married (2 kids), Chief Executive Officer (Singapore), NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Ltd, BBldg (1st Class Hons) (UNSW)
  • Tan Chuan Jin, 42, Married (2 kids), BG(NS) & former Commander of the army's Training and Doctrine Command, SAF, BSc (LSE), M(Defence Studies) (King's), M(Public Management) (NUS)
  • Tin Pei Ling, 27, Married, Senior Associate, Ernst & Young, BSocSci (NUS)

If this was a purely one-on-one: Nicole Seah versus Tin Pei Ling, NSP will totally own PAP.

But in the game of GRC, how can one bring himself to choose NICOLE SEAH over SENIOR MINISTER GOH CHOK TONG?

As such, by 7 May, PAP will again win Marine Parade GRC and TPL will sail right into Parliament to enjoy her $15k MP allowance per month for the next 5 years.

Solely because we, Singaporeans, like to associate outstanding academic achievements and certain atas types of professions with 'invincibility', and therefore anyone who is 'invincible' is good to be our MP.

And there is nothing you can do about this Extra Value Meal which the PAP has offered. You cannot upsize, you cannot change fries to corn cup. No ala carte option.

So do you want to go next door to kopitiam instead?
